It's a story of nature, yarn and allergies
Trailhead yarns is a story. A story told by colour on gorgeous yarn. It started with a summer in one of the most beautiful places on earth: The Cabot Trail. There, Samantha was inspired daily to interpret nature's beauty on yarn.
In the Spring of 2013 Trailhead Yarns was created. Back then, we sold hand-dyed Canadian wool. In 2016, a life changing wool allergy had Samantha looking for non-wool options. As she noted the lack of quality options... A product was born! Our mission? To provide beautiful, hand-dyed yarns for those: who have allergies who live in warmer climates who want wash and wear and; Those who just want to use vegan yarns. We have been perfecting our techniques for years, and we are standing up to meet the growing demand for sustainably sourced plant-based yarns. We are always working on new projects and colours. We only use professional dyes and pride ourselves on consistent replicable colourways. |
Doing our part
Trailhead Yarns believes in creating beautiful yarns that everyone can enjoy. Yarns are plant based and include cotton, linen, and tencel. We are proud of providing unique materials.
Our packaging is without plastic, and always minimalist. In the studio, we aim to use materials that are recyclable and biodegradable. We also put some focus on reducing our use of energy and water.
Our environmental stance is strong and we are always looking for solutions to our processing as well.
