Trailhead Yarns all started with a summer in one of the most beautiful places on earth. The Cabot Trail showed new beauty daily and inspired Samantha to interpret it on yarn. In the Spring of 2013 Trailhead Yarns was created and started selling hand-dyed Canadian wool. In 2016 a life changing wool allergy had Samantha looking for non-wool options and realised the lack of quality options. The new mission for Trailhead Yarns was created. To provide beautiful hand-dyed yarns for those with allergies, living in warmer climates, wanting wash and wear as well as vegans yarns. After a year of perfecting the new techniques THY is now growing and there to meet that great demand. Come share in the beauty today.
Trailhead Yarns believes in creating beautiful yarns that everyone can enjoy. Yarns are plant based and include cotton, linen, and Tencel. One base you will never see is us carry is rayon/bamboo. Our environmental stance is strong and we are always looking for solutions to our processing as well. By fall 2018 the studio will be going off-grid and using solar power where. We will also be implementing a system to reduce our impact significantly by using waste water recovery systems. Follow our journey to see all that is to come. We look forward to being surrounded by the forest for new inspiration every day and care for this land.
